HTC is definitely looking to make a huge splash with the introduction of their five new Window Phone 7 handsets, but we’re a bit confused about the HTC 7 Trophy. The handset features a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.8 inch capacitive WVGA display, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, 8GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and the now standard motion, proximity, and ambient light sensors. The HTC 7 Trophy is certainly a well equipped device, but there’s not much that makes it stand out from the HTC 7 Mozart. The only differences between the two handsets are the screen size, camera, and flash. Some of you may be quick to point out that the HTC 7 Mozart features a uni-body aluminum case while the HTC 7 Trophy has a standard plastic body, but that’s certainly now reason to product two handsets with nearly identical specs.
Looking at the HTC 7 Trophy’s global availability does reveal that the phone is a Vodafone exclusive in seven different countries. Our guess is that Vodafone wanted to have a phone that no one else could offer. Vodafone is expected to launch the HTC 7 Trophy before the end of October. Pricing for the handset will certainly vary based on the rate plan that customers choose.
