Windows Phone 7 powered HTC T8788 shows off slide-out speaker

The launch of Android may have gotten off to a pretty slow start, but it looks like HTC plans on jumping back into bed with Microsoft for the Windows Phone 7 launch later this quarter.  Shots of the At&t bound HTC T8788 have just surfaced and it looks like HTC will be bending the mold just a little.  The HTC T8788 will be the first HTC handset to feature a slide-out speaker.  We’re pretty sure most HTC fans would much rather have a full QWERTY keyboard instead of the speaker, but you’ll have to wait a little longer to find a good replacement for that HTC Touch Pro2 you’re still holding on to.  Most other Windows Phone 7 handsets we have spotted from other manufacturers are all starting to look the same, so we’re somewhat glad to see HTC is going to be offering a “unique” experience with the T8788.  Let’s just hope they include some robust multimedia functionality in the HTC T8788 so that users can truly take advantage of that slide-out speaker.
