Vodafone confirms Android 2.0 on for the HTC Magic

The past few weeks have been filled with Android 2.1 news for the HTC Hero. We don’t have an exact date, but at least we know it’s coming.  But what about the original HTC Dream and Magic?  HTC has been silent on the topic, but it sounds like Vodafone has finally released bit of info which could be great news for HTC customers.  If you want an answer to something, apparently all you have to do is ask @vodafone_es on Twitter.

@Vodafone_es Good morning, I wanted to ask if there will be updated to android 2.0 on our magics. Thank you very much!

I know many of our followers has asked this question and have even tweeted @HTC and many carriers.  But this is the first time we have seen a response from any of them with an actual answer about Android 2.x on the HTC Magic

@Antoniodfr I will confirm that, but no exact date

We’re not sure why @Antoniodfr asked about Android 2.0 instead of 2.1, but it’s encouraging to see that both Vodafone and HTC are working on getting Android 2.x on the HTC Magic.  There’s still no word on the HTC Dream, but maybe all we have to do is ask.  If you have the time, send a quick tweet to your carrier and ask about Andorid 2.x on your Dream.  It can’t hurt. And who knows, you might actually get an answer.
