Nexus One with a little Sense and Desire

People ask me all the time why I buy and blog about HTC products. There are a lot of other brands out there with more recognition, so surely they must b better. I always come back to the fact that HTC has one of the most active development communities by far. The dust hasn’t even settles from HTC’s press announcement from yesterday morning and we already have a working port of the HTC Desire ROM running on the Nexus One. This is why I love HTC!

Paul from the MoDaCo forums has just posted his test results. So far, things are looking very good. The Desire build that’s being used is watermarked and is nearly 200MB is size (making to too large for the system partition of the Nexus One). Since most the internal hardware of the N1 and Desire is identical, all hardware features (LED, trackball, camera, and sensors) work just fine. One major highlight is that is that Adobe Flash 10.1 is included in the ROM build and it is working. We’re not sure when we might see an un-watermarked HTC Desire build released into the wild, but it sure is nice to see how close we are considering that the HTC Desire was announced only 36 hours ago.

  1. Hi, i have searched and searched everywhere but I just can’t find that wallpaper (on the picture). It must be included in HTC Sense UI based on Android 2.1, but nowhere is the wallpaper to be found. I thought HTC Source might be the best place to ask. So, where can I get that beautiful wallpaper? Cheers

    1. I was wondering the same thing. Right now, there’s seems to be only one leaked ROm build from the Desire but it has not been released to the public. Once it’s out, I’ll be sure to post it along wiht any other new wallpapers that may be on the new Sense build.
